LEVEL-3 Equipment Operator
Must have a minimum of 3-years of equipment operating experience. You must be able to efficiently operate at least three of our Class-2 machines. This can include, depending on the machine; loading trucks quickly and fully with all types of materials (trees, dirt, concrete, rock, debris), cutting final grade with and without GPS. You must be able to read plans, layout your own work, set up and be efficient at using the GPS base/rover and machine control. (You are not required to already have GPS experience- we will train you on our GPS systems) You need the skills to plan ahead to make sure your methods are the most efficient which may include determining onsite truck paths, which way to load out a cut, calculate basic dirt volumes to figure fill areas, etc. You will at times, be doing some groundwork such as operating our water skid, laying out filter fabric, installing silt fencing/erosion control, and checking grades with a GPS rover. You will be responsible for greasing and walk-arounds for all equipment being operated.
Please read below to understand our methods of classifying equipment.
The reason we classified our equipment is to help us define or assess a person’s skill level and how we determine pay rates and team placement.
This is how we decided on the Classifications:
For equipment in Class-1, a person with no experience on that machine, can be trained in 2 hours to the extent that they can then perform work in a productive way. This is in no way saying that the person will be completely efficient or won’t need further training, but merely that they can perform work effectively.
For equipment in Class-2, a person will need a significant amount of training and experience to be able to effectively perform most of the tasks that these machines are used for.
CTL (Skid steer)*
Motor Grader (Blade)
*The basic use of these machines can be trained in a few hours – therefore, we set them Class-1. They can also do much more advanced tasks with the appropriate operator skills.
With being a small company, everyone needs to be willing to step in and do whatever needs to be done to get a job done! We are looking for ambitious people that are driven to excel at everything they do. Work ethic, attitude, and personal character are very important to us! Our goal for every operator is to improve and advance their skills. We will do our best to provide you with the training and opportunities to accomplish this!
