Quarry Superintendent - What Will You Do?

• Manages overall site safety through training and observation of workforce. Ensures that all safety policies and procedures are being met.
• Fosters a productive team and promotes a positive work environment.
• Oversees product quality and the overall efficiency of the production plan. This includes achieving production targets while staying within budget.
• Responsible for developing maintenance plan, which includes scheduled outages, routine and preventative maintenance, and unplanned downtime.
• Maintains accurate records through daily production reports, inventory, and critical supplies.
• Leads coworkers and workforce through the employment lifecycle. This includes hiring, promotions, position changes, time approval, etc.
• Facilitates daily toolbox talks, JHA meetings, and pre-shift huddles.
• Assists MSHA and DEP inspectors with site inspections.
• Works closely with sales and other lines of business to ensure quality product and availability.
• Maintains an orderly appearance of facility and leads 5S initiatives.
• Maintains positive relations with site neighbors.

Requirements - Who Are We Looking For?

• Associates Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or relevant discipline preferred. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
• Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience, including, but not limited to surface aggregate mining, processing and maintenance.
• Proven knowledge of drilling and blasting as well as site development.
• MSHA Part 46 or 48 certification.
• Ability to operate and train others on heavy equipment and heavy equipment maintenance.
• Must have strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Must possess strong attention to detail, good organizational skills with the ability to ensure accurate work.
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Valid Driver’s License and compliant with NESL Driving Standards.
