Job Summary:
Plateau Excavation is seeking an experienced Hammer Operator to join our Crushing Crew. In this role, you will operate a hydraulic hammer attachment on an excavator to break oversized rock and concrete as part of our sitework and material processing operations. You’ll work closely with our crushing team to ensure efficient material flow and contribute to safe, productive job site performance.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate excavator-mounted hydraulic hammer to reduce large boulders, concrete, and hard material to crusher-acceptable sizes
Support daily crushing operations by clearing jams and oversized material
Conduct pre-operation inspections and perform basic maintenance of the machine and attachment
Follow direction from foreman and crushing superintendent regarding production goals and safety procedures
Communicate with ground crew and equipment operators to maintain safe distances and efficient workflow
Assist in general site duties when not operating equipment, including spotting, shoveling, and cleanup
Maintain awareness of surroundings, equipment conditions, and crew safety at all times

Qualifications:

Minimum 2 years of experience operating excavators with hydraulic hammer attachments
Experience in crushing or rock processing environments strongly preferred
Working knowledge of job site safety protocols and heavy equipment operation
Ability to work in physically demanding conditions, including heat, dust, and uneven terrain
Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to job sites as needed
