Carter Machinery Company, the authorized Caterpillar dealer serving Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and Washington D.C. is hiring a Hydraulic Cylinder Technician in Richmond, Virginia for 2nd shift.  The Hydraulic Cylinder Technician is provided the training to be able to disassemble, inspect, repair/replace, reassemble and test hydraulic cylinders to meet factory specifications. This is an entry level position that requires strong aptitude but no previous experience. Seeking candidates with previous experience troubleshooting and diagnosing equipment failures preferred but not required. High school diploma or GED required.

Requirements for the Hydraulic Cylinder Technician position include:

• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Self-starter motivated to be successful in a team environment.
• Willingness and ability to learn operation of specialized shop equipment.
• Proficient in the use of a computer, Microsoft Office products and service software.
• Must be willing to work shifts as needed, including days, nights, and/or weekends to meet customer needs.

Physical requirements must be met for the Hydraulic Cylinder Technician job, including regularly being required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 70 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus.
