Carter Machinery Company, the authorized Caterpillar dealer serving Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and Washington D.C. is hiring an Electric Power Generation (EPG) Shop Technician in Elkridge, Maryland. The EPG Shop Technician is responsible for accurately diagnosing, troubleshooting and repairing basic operational failures to electrical generator systems and basic engine failures or related components. Seeking candidates that must have previous experience diagnosing and troubleshooting basic engine failures and performing mechanical repairs to electrical generator systems and related equipment or completed EPG Apprenticeship program. High school diploma or GED required.
Requirements for the EPG Shop Technician position include:
Physical requirements must be met for the EPG Shop Technician job, including regularly being required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit. The employee must be capable of lifting up to 70 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Starting Compensation Range: $28.11- $40.30 per hour
Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, skills, candidate qualifications, education, geographic location, and other relevant business factors. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance e.g. discretionary incentive programs or non-discretionary incentive plans.
