Summary

Skilled and General Laborers are the lifeblood of Hi-Way’s job-site operations. Individuals in these roles work as a team to carry-out project plans from site preparation to assisting with final paving operations. We are currently seeking candidates for a variety of roles that will help us execute our project in Nashville, TN with the flexibility to travel to other job sites in North Carolina and South Carolina when needed.

Responsibilities

• Clean and prepare construction and paving areas.
• Read plans, instructions, and specifications to execute work.
• Load, unload, or identify construction materials, machinery, and tools.
• Distribute materials to the appropriate job site locations, according to project plans or specifications.
• Use hand and power tools, as necessary, to complete tasks.
• Direct vehicle traffic and signal equipment operators, as needed.
• Communicate effectively with other laborers, machine operators, and site management.
• Observe safe work practices and all safety protocols and instructions.
• Other tasks and duties, as assigned.

Qualifications

• Construction-site labor experience, required.
• Heavy or highway construction experience, preferred.
• Physical capabilities required are climbing, lifting, carrying a minimum of 75 lbs., standing, sitting, walking, entering confined spaces, pushing, pulling, kneeling, squatting, and performing repetitive actions.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to gain clearance in restricted/high security zones. (Airport AOA, Military Bases, etc.)
• For Skilled Labor: 3+ years (journeyman) experience in your trade (please specify your trade/status on your application), required.

Hi-Way Paving, Inc. is a general contractor in the heavy/civil construction space focusing on projects involving significant amounts of concrete paving on airfields.

We operate in several southeastern and midwestern states with current job sites in Tennessee and North Carolina as well as corporate/back office operations in Ohio (our headquarters) and remote locations. We perform most of our work and services as a prime contractor but occasionally serve as a subcontractor on principal contracts with federal, state, and other governmental agencies as well as private owners.
