Position is based in Charleston, SC. As an Estimator, an understanding of the full scope of a project will be required from document review, knowledge of internal capabilities, and questions to the design team/construction manager/owner. Position requires creation the estimate from start to award.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed quantity take-offs for sitework and civil construction projects including site preparation, earthwork analysis and 3D modeling, utilities, roadways and finishes on public and private projects.
• Prepare qualifications and assumptions for the estimate.
• Review and present estimates.
• Prepare cost comparisons and reconciliations with previous estimates.
• Develop subcontractor scope, perform subcontractor and vendor analysis, procure competitive subcontractor and vendor pricing.
• Prepare value engineering and risk analysis.
• Ensure the estimating process runs smoothly, promptly, and efficiently and that client expectations are achieved throughout estimating process.
• Build relationships with owners, general contractors, subcontractors, and vendors to understand stakeholder goals, needs and expectations and facilitate bid opportunities in the regional market.

Knowledge and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in civil engineering, construction management, architecture or related field or a high school diploma and 5 years of construction field, PM and/or estimating experience
• Exceptional time management and ability to meet deadlines.
• Detail oriented and must be extremely organized.
• Experience with estimating software such as B2W, Agtek or other comparable estimating software.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word and BlueBeam Software, preferred.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD or Carlson Software, preferred
• Valid driver's license.
