About the Role
As a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, you’ll play a crucial role in keeping our operations running smoothly. You’ll be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing a variety of construction equipment, ensuring they are safe and in optimal working condition.
Key Responsibilities:
-Conduct regular inspections of equipment to detect wear, damage, or malfunctioning parts.
-Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
-Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment issues, identifying root causes and determining appropriate solutions.
-Read schematics for electrical and hydraulic systems and execute precise repairs.
Utilize fleet maintenance software to document repairs, parts usage, and repair times.
-Test repaired equipment to ensure proper function and compliance with safety standards.
-Maintain and organize tools and supplies for efficient use during maintenance.
Communicate and collaborate with team members and Superintendents to ensure minimal equipment downtime.
-Perform routine welding and fabrication work as needed for field repairs.
Qualifications:
-Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic.
-Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
-Proficiency in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing heavy equipment.
-Ability to perform preventive maintenance and routine inspections.
-Experience with fleet maintenance software for documentation.
-Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
-Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
-Commitment to safety and adherence to safety protocols and regulations.
-As a Journeyman Mechanic, you are expected to have your own set of tools. The company will provide larger tools as needed.
